L’Egypte choisit le Rafale

La société Dassault Aviation est très honorée que la République arabe d’Egypte ait choisi le Rafale pour équiper son armée de l’air. Cette décision pérennise une coopération qui remonte aux années 70 et qui permet au Mirage 5, à l’Alpha Jet et au Mirage 2000 de voler sous les cocardes égyptiennes. Le Rafale correspond aux besoins des pays qui, comme l’Egypte, veulent disposer en toute souveraineté d’une armée de l’air de premier rang.

« Je remercie les plus hautes autorités égyptiennes pour ce partenariat stratégique et historique ; Dassault Aviation sera au rendez-vous de la confiance qu’elles viennent une nouvelle fois de nous témoigner, déclare Eric Trappier, le PDG de Dassault Aviation. Je remercie également les autorités françaises, qui sont à l’origine du programme Rafale et qui lui ont apporté le soutien politique sans lequel il ne peut y avoir d’exportation militaire. Je salue la compétence des 7000 salariés qui travaillent sur le Rafale chez Dassault Aviation, Thales, Safran et dans les 500 entreprises sous-traitantes ».

Premier chasseur complètement polyvalent, capable d’effectuer toutes les missions assignées à l’aviation de combat (air-air, air-sol, air-mer), le Rafale est entré en service dans la Marine nationale et l’armée de l’Air française en 2004-2006 pour remplacer progressivement 7 types d’avions de précédentes générations. Il a été déployé en Afghanistan (2007-2012), en Libye (2011), dans la bande sahélo-saharienne (depuis 2013) et en Irak (depuis septembre 2014). Il a remporté l’appel d’offres destiné à équipé l’armée indienne avec 126 appareils. Il fait actuellement l’objet de négociations avec plusieurs gouvernements.
